Happy New Year Hampton Roads!

OK so Christmas is over (Happy Belated Birthday Jesus), but seriously Christmas is over and as we continue to live out our salvation we have to still provide for our families until His return. I hope you can agree with me when I say let’s make 2011 better than the last. How do we do that you ask? Well lets look at a few key factors as to what we do personally that can possible change.

  1. Procrastination: To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.
  • There are a million ways to lose a work day, but not even a single way to get one back.  ~Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister
  • You may delay, but time will not.  ~Benjamin Franklin
  • Someday is not a day of the week.  ~Author Unknown

Simply put don’t procrastinate, this can be one of the leading causes as to why company A. never received your bid and how you lost that job. Procrastinating can push-off what can be done today to tomorrow and that only ruins tomorrow before it starts. So be sure to focus on what needs to be done today, don’t focus on where your going tonight or who your hanging out with instead focus on your project and finish it in a timely manner.

  1. Time Management:  Time management refers to the development of processes and tools that increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much can be done if we are always doing.
    Thomas Jefferson
  • Never let yesterday use up today.
    Richard H. Nelson
  • Time is really the only capital that any human being has, and the only thing he can’t afford to lose.
    Thomas Edison

Time management is very important in this new year! We have to set specific time aside every day for many different facets in our lives work and business. For example if we are stressing over our home life and haven’t given home proper time than how can we possible focus at work on what is at hand when we have that dripping faucet back at home on our mind. We can’t be at home watching a movie with the family or having dinner with that project we could have finished today still to be worked on tomorrow.

  1. Set aside time for online networking pick a time, for me it’s 4-5pm of the day 1 hr a day 5 days a week! (That can be adjusted depending on clients.)
  2. Set aside specific time to building business, getting out and introducing yourself to businesses and people.
  3. Set aside time to make calls/call backs/ e-mails/ voice-mails. (Urgent matters take president’s) – Don’t get bogged down with replying to little things when the bigger picture is being neglected.

So in closing is this, don’t push-off today till tomorrow and allow today to be as profitable as it possible can. Go home knowing you did all you could and spend time with your family/social time. Go away from home knowing you did all you can and focus at work. You can make 2011 amazing but only you can make it, so get out and do it!

We are looking forward to hearing about your success. Remember if you need any help with social networking (online) please don’t hesitate to call 757-744-9119, and lets see if Kissnetworking.biz can help. Thanks again for reading our blog have an amazing New Year!

I was thinking today that we are so geared up towards online networking, we try to find the latest and greatest way online to get noticed, but forget about old-school methods that still work to this day.

Think about this, most if not all of your friends use high-speed internet, but now because there are so few using dial-up we now have dial-up almost as fast as high-speed. Crazy right? Think about networking, we all push for online presence! We no longer use basic networking like door hangers, no more door to door, no asking for referrals, no more letters and thank you cards. It’s now all about online presence, less personal more fictional. Why when you can diversify your business and give it that at home personal touch. So I think if you use many different avenues instead of just online you to can grow and maintain. I also think your clients will be much more loyal to you and your business.

Bottom line is this, don’t forget your roots, in marketing and networking. Market yourself and business in many ways not just online because that’s not enough… Good luck and Good selling.

P.s. Don’t forget to ask for the sale.

Insurance is a very important part of our lives to help indemnify us in the event of something tragic or unplanned happening. Accidents happen and we all need to prepare ourselves for such events. There are many things in our lives that we need insurance for e.g. Life, Health, Auto, Home and many others. Today however I’m only going to speak about Auto as I specialize in Auto in over 30 states of America.

Todays Tip:  Lending Loss

Lending Loss – Is simply defined as when you lend out a vehicle to someone that is not on your insurance plan and wrecks your vehicle.

Please keep in mind the vehicle and the driver should be covered under your insurance policy but ultimately it can hurt the primary insured also known as “Named Insured“.

Premium can go up and if you call to get a different policy with a new company it will show up on what we call a clue report!

Tip:

  1. Lending out your vehicle can possible raise your rates or hinder lower rates with a new company
  2. Some companies say they offer accident forgiveness and some offer it without saying it
  3. Lending loss will show up on a clue report so expect it to raise your rates depending on cost of claim and how long ago it was when that claim happened. (Typically you only get penalized up to 3 years but can affect rates up to 5)

As things have shifted in our economy it has become far more economical to surf the web and do more networking in the comforts of our PJ’s. I think that we have to learn that just being online will not cut it, but it can certainly help build clients and cut down on traveling expenses. Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying if you have an opportunity to have a face to face meeting you take it, but door to door doesn’t seem to have its same effect. Use networking/door to door/ cold calling/ and most important referrals but be sure to ask for them or how would your client know to give a referral to you?

Hey Everyone,

I hope this finds everyone doing well. I know I haven’t been much into the networking scene lately and I have a lot of great reasons for that so let me share a little bit of whats been going on. First my wife and I purchased a new home in the last couple of months and yes we are very thankful for it, but wow was it a head-ach. First we found this home in February, we started the paperwork on the home and well to say the least we got “Punked” for a lack of better words.  We started off with Bank of America since they owned the house already and we thought since they owned it, it would make buying this home from the bank very easy boy were we wrong. Not only were we approved 4 times by bank of america but then (1) day before closing they denied our loan that simply said “Sucked” so we had to scramble and find local lending which we did and ultimately worked out to our benefit so we are very thankful for that. So we closed in June 4 months later and we are just now getting settled because of the amount of work that had to be done.  Thank you to All Conyers Heating and Cooling + All Conyers Electric for helping us get in as soon as possible.

So during that whole time I took on a Job with an insurance company that I will leave nameless. I absolutely love helping people become secure in knowing in bad situations they will be at least indemnified or close to it financially. I realize insurance is not a thing we wake up saying “Wow I can’t wait to deal with insurance today” but it’s important to have and in many cases mandatory i.e. auto and home owners ins. So two weeks ago I passed my exam for Life, Health & Annuities and will be requesting that License soon. I currently hold a Property and Casualty license but will be using all of my licenses soon I hope with a new company that I plan to start working for in the next 6 months.  So yes soon you can ask me for advice for Life, Health, Auto, and Home insurance how awesome is that?

My wife and I sadly planned to have two boys come into our care because we are licensed foster parents and to our surprise the children were placed in a different home because the city of NORFOLK asked us to resign our position with Hope Inc.  www.hope-tfc.org if you get a chance find them they are wonderful for adoption and foster care. Anyways we were asked to resign on the day picking up the boys which we were unable or willing to do and so the kids were ultimately placed with a different set of parents (we pray for them and ask that they care for them the way they need to be).  Ultimately with everyone going on we know it was a God decision not a self decision and we know  it was best for us now.

My beautiful Bride also lost her Grandmother in the last year and that was very hard on the family. Gammie was a very very important part of Amanda’s up-bringing and that I’m so thankful for, she was also a very loving woman who was God-fearing and taught us what Love is so Gammie we miss, love and thank you. I also lost my aunt in the last week and it’s always tough loosing someone but to be apart of the body is to be present with the lord. So we take comfort in that.

Ok so that all being said yes I am now an Insurance Agent and even-though I won’t disclose where I’m at yet I will here in the next 6 months let you know, I hope to be your Agent within the Virginia Area.
