Happy New Year Hampton Roads!

OK so Christmas is over (Happy Belated Birthday Jesus), but seriously Christmas is over and as we continue to live out our salvation we have to still provide for our families until His return. I hope you can agree with me when I say let’s make 2011 better than the last. How do we do that you ask? Well lets look at a few key factors as to what we do personally that can possible change.

  1. Procrastination: To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.
  • There are a million ways to lose a work day, but not even a single way to get one back.  ~Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister
  • You may delay, but time will not.  ~Benjamin Franklin
  • Someday is not a day of the week.  ~Author Unknown

Simply put don’t procrastinate, this can be one of the leading causes as to why company A. never received your bid and how you lost that job. Procrastinating can push-off what can be done today to tomorrow and that only ruins tomorrow before it starts. So be sure to focus on what needs to be done today, don’t focus on where your going tonight or who your hanging out with instead focus on your project and finish it in a timely manner.

  1. Time Management:  Time management refers to the development of processes and tools that increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much can be done if we are always doing.
    Thomas Jefferson
  • Never let yesterday use up today.
    Richard H. Nelson
  • Time is really the only capital that any human being has, and the only thing he can’t afford to lose.
    Thomas Edison

Time management is very important in this new year! We have to set specific time aside every day for many different facets in our lives work and business. For example if we are stressing over our home life and haven’t given home proper time than how can we possible focus at work on what is at hand when we have that dripping faucet back at home on our mind. We can’t be at home watching a movie with the family or having dinner with that project we could have finished today still to be worked on tomorrow.

  1. Set aside time for online networking pick a time, for me it’s 4-5pm of the day 1 hr a day 5 days a week! (That can be adjusted depending on clients.)
  2. Set aside specific time to building business, getting out and introducing yourself to businesses and people.
  3. Set aside time to make calls/call backs/ e-mails/ voice-mails. (Urgent matters take president’s) – Don’t get bogged down with replying to little things when the bigger picture is being neglected.

So in closing is this, don’t push-off today till tomorrow and allow today to be as profitable as it possible can. Go home knowing you did all you could and spend time with your family/social time. Go away from home knowing you did all you can and focus at work. You can make 2011 amazing but only you can make it, so get out and do it!

Today is the day that we Celebrate the Birth of a Savior. This Child “Jesus” was given to us so we don’t have to spend eternity in Hell. If it wasn’t for this Child sin of the world couldn’t be forgiven. God gave us all a second chance so even-though Salvation is free it’s not Cheap. So with all of us at Kissnetworking.biz say: (Happy Birthday Jesus).

“Happy Birthday Jesus!”

Luke Ch. 1

The Birth of Jesus Foretold

26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”

35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[b] the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”

38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Frozen Pipe

Frozen Pipes are no joke! Be sure to wrap your pipes and insulate your wells, trust me I should know because of what happened to me today! So I woke up yesterday morning and to my surprise I turned on my shower and as the water was running all of a sudden I heard silence and in my head I remember saying “No way that just happened”. So I started running around the house inspecting everywhere turning off the pump to the well so I don’t blow up the motor. I put on my crawl suit jump under my house to inspect for any lines that might burst and it seems all is well (Thank God). So I come to find out that my well box where the pump connects to the well is located is frozen. So what do you do you ask?

First: Be sure to shut off any and all electricity that is effected or used to help push water within the house for example – Water Heater and well pumps.

Second: Start trying to warm up the pipes any way you can, towels, blankets, hot lamps, or heaters. Be cautious with fires never put yourself in a bad situation so exercise caution. They also sell this cool gadget at Lowe’s it’s a pipe warmer that plugs in and works for PVC and Copper pipes, cost about $30.00.

Third: When your water comes back on set it up on a Drip because pipes don’t freeze as easy with running water.

So save yourself a shower-less morning like the one I got and prepare yourself.

I hope this helps, have a very good morning and remember BUNDLE UP!

Abominable Snow Dawg

Image by Christmas w/a K via Flickr

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – It’s not even Winter yet and Hampton Roads is preparing for a second round of snowfall this week. There is actually a good chance the area will see two more days of snow in the current 7-day forecast .

The first round is expected Thursday mid-morning and will continue throughout the day, with some changes. WAVY Meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler predicts the snow will switch to a sleet/snow/freezing rain mix by the afternoon. Then, early Sunday morning, another, stronger system will hit. That storm could bring several inches of snowfall; just how much will be determined in the coming days.

There is a Winter Storm Watch in effect for a couple of counties and more advisories may be issued soon.

Read the WAVY weather blogs for in-depth updates.

In anticipation of the winter weather conditions, theVirginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is pre-treated interstates and parts of Route 58 and Route 460 with an anti-icing agent as a preventative measure. Crews focused on bridges, overpasses and exit ramps, roadways most likely to form a bond with ice and snow. Crews will remain on standby for when the snow event begins.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP)Wachovia is adding employees at two Virginia call centers.

The bank is planning to hire 220 customer service representatives at its call center in Henrico County by June. It also plans to add 100 employees by the end of the year at its Roanoke call center.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that customer service representatives at the call centers serve Wachovia and Wells Fargo customers across the nation.

Officials say Wachovia began increasing the number of employees at the Richmond call center this year, in light of its merger with San Francisco-based Wells Fargo.
